Acceptance of applications for participation in the annual Moscow Restoration competition has ended in the capital. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
“This year, more than 60 applications have been submitted for the restoration competition of the Moscow Government. For example, the list includes such historical objects as the house of the merchant Bykov on 2nd Brestskaya Street, GES-2, sculptural compositions of residential buildings on Gagarin Square. Student projects will be awarded in a separate category. Another winner will be chosen by the participants of the Active Citizen project, ”said Natalya Sergunina.
The competition will be held for the 11th time. It presents a variety of cultural heritage sites: city estates, objects of civil and industrial architecture, monumental art and religious architecture, garden art and landscape architecture.
The purpose of the competition is to determine the most significant restoration projects implemented in this and last years, as well as to encourage their authors. In addition, the competition contributes to the development of the traditions of the Moscow school of restoration, popularization and attraction of public interest to the monuments of history and culture.

For 10 years, nearly 400 laureates have been awarded the Moscow Restoration competition. They participated in the restoration of 182 architectural monuments of the capital.
