“In the course of direct preparation for the exercise, we analyzed in detail the experience of recent armed conflicts, primarily in the Syrian Arab Republic. This made it possible to introduce new methods of combat operations in the mountains, to adjust the procedure for the use of forces and means, highlighting reconnaissance and fire, special and maneuverable strike actions, ”emphasized Alexander Lapin.

In addition, according to him, the exercise worked out methods of zonal cover for objects of collective forces from attack drones using the new means of electronic warfare “Field-2021”, “Zhitel” and “Svet-KU”

The joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the CSTO “Rubezh-2021” started in Kyrgyzstan on September 7 at the Edelweiss training ground. It is attended by military contingents and operational groups of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as operational groups of the Joint Staff and the Secretariat of the CSTO, the formation of special forces and means of internal affairs bodies (police), bodies in the field of prevention of liquidation of consequences of emergency situations and the State the National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan. In total, more than 1,000 people and 150 pieces of equipment are involved, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, Tiger armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems, Su-30SM fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters.

The basis of the Russian military contingent in the exercise are servicemen of the Tuvan mountain motorized rifle brigade of the Central Military District, as well as the personnel of the united Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan.
