MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland Christina Marty Lang and Acting Head of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Andrei Popeto, attended the concert as guests of honor.
Note that this is the first performance of a world musical group on the stage of IK-22. It became possible to arrange a musical festival of this level for convicted women thanks to the 2019-2021 Working Program of Russian-Swiss cooperation in the sphere of the execution of sentences signed in 2019.
Eliana Bürki, together with her musical group, performed several of her own compositions on the alpine forge. The convicts admitted that for the first time they heard the sound of such a rare instrument live. The audience was delighted with how deftly a fragile girl handles such a large musical instrument.
The convicts of IK-22 did not leave the guests from Switzerland without a gift. The girls presented their creative performances to the musicians’ court – a dance in the Russian-folk style and sang a song about Russia.
At the end of the evening, Christina Marty Lang and Eliana Bürki thanked the leadership of the regional department and IK-22 for the warm welcome. She wished the convicts to return home as soon as possible.
Andrei Popeto, Acting Head of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, thanked the musicians for their virtuoso performance and for the holiday they presented to the convicts.
