Colonel Hanif Beglov, head of the Central Military District’s armored service, announced this on the eve of the Tanker’s Day.

“This year, the 75th anniversary of the Tanker’s Day coincided with the 80th anniversary of our Guards Tank Division, so the celebrations dedicated to the festive date will be held at the interspecific training ground in Chebarkul,” Colonel Hanif Beglov said. He added that the celebration of the Tankman’s Day will be held in the format of the military-patriotic festival “Armor of Tankograda”, where visitors will be presented with modern and historical armored vehicles. “We will show the guests of the holiday the figured piloting of T-72B3 battle tanks, as well as a static display of more than 30 modern combat vehicles in service with the Central Military District’s Guards Tank Division,” said Colonel Hanif Beglov.

The press service of the Central Military District clarified that the historical exhibition will feature more than 20 tanks and vehicles-exhibits of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, mock-ups of B-2 engines, which were used to equip heavy tanks of the IS-3 type and medium T-34, the ISU tank destroyer -152 times of the Great Patriotic War

Tanker’s Day was established in 1946 and is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of September. It originates from the parade-march of the Kantemirovskaya Guards Tank Division, which took place on Red Square and became the first official celebration of the Tankman’s Day. The holiday is included in the list of professional holidays of the RF Armed Forces.
