Today, the Northern Fleet worked out the tasks of organizing anti-submarine and sabotage defense of basing points within the framework of an exercise with an Arctic expeditionary group, which is being led by the commander of the Northern Fleet, Admiral Alexander Moiseev.

A drawing of practical episodes took place at the main basing points of the Northern Fleet with the solution of tasks to counter the conditional saboteurs trying to penetrate the inland water area. To search for underwater “saboteurs” was used remotely controlled underwater vehicle “Marlin-350”. Such underwater drones are in service with special forces to combat the PDSS of submarine formations of the Northern Fleet.

In order to prevent possible actions of the mock enemy combat swimmers in the water area of the main base of the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet, Gadzhievo, preventive grenade throwing was practiced. This exercise was carried out by combat crews of project 21980 anti-sabotage boats “Yunarmeets of the White Sea” and “Yunarmeets of the Arctic” from multi-barreled rocket-propelled grenade launchers DP-65 and the duty combat group of the detachment to combat submarine sabotage forces and means (PDSS) on high-speed boats BL-680 grenades -5.

An episode of counteraction against a floating craft that violates the sailing regime was also worked out. The on-duty combat group of the anti-SDSS detachment on high-speed anti-sabotage boats moved forward to intercept the conditional intruder, simultaneously “throwing out” the divers. The intruder resisted, resulting in an assault and seizure of the boat with the use of weapons.

It was also organized to conduct an anti-sabotage inspection of the underwater part of the submarine’s hull, as well as the soil under it in order to detect signs of sabotage activities.
