Within the framework of the joint strategic exercise (SSU) of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus “West-2021”, a unified control system for air defense (air defense) duty officers has been created, which includes all the forces and means to repel air strikes, cover groupings of troops and control of all means of destruction of air targets from a single center.
To organize the command and control of air defense forces and interact with the covered troops, modern communications and automated control systems are used, which make it possible to identify and distribute air targets in the shortest possible time, as well as to bring commands to destroy them to fire resources in real time.
At the Zapad-2021 exercise, the issues of radar reconnaissance, control and interaction will be worked out in conditions of radio suppression of communications equipment and radio jamming in various frequency ranges of radar facilities.
Earlier, in order to repel an air attack on the territory of the district in a given area, the calculations of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems, the calculations of radar stations of various ranges, as well as the crews of fighter aircraft took over on combat duty in the air defense.
