A unique tactical element of tank combat – a tank ram was shown to the visitors of the Ural tank festival Armor of Tankograda-2021, which took place on September 11 at the Chebarkulsky training ground in the Chelyabinsk region.

The tank ram was demonstrated during the reconstruction of one of the events of the Great Patriotic War – Operation Bagration. The crew of the T-34-85 tank rammed the artillery positions. Having entered the battle with the heavy tank “Tiger”, the “thirty-four” made its high-speed detour and, having dispersed, burst into the positional area of ​​German anti-tank guns, destroying the enemy’s weapons with its tracks.

Tank battering ram is a tactical technique of tank battle, used during the Great Patriotic War by Soviet tankers to disable enemy armored vehicles and weapons. During the war, Soviet tank crews carried out more than 100 rams against enemy armored vehicles, field artillery guns and aircraft at airfields.

The patriotic action was attended by servicemen of the guards tank division of the Central Military District, employees of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of the Chelyabinsk region, representatives of the patriotic education fund “Council of Chiefs of Military Units” and military-patriotic associations of the South Urals.

The parade of armored weapons was shown to the visitors of the Ural tank festival “Armor of Tankograda-2021” which took place on September 11 at the 255th interspecific training ground of the Central Military District in the Chelyabinsk region.

The movement of the column of armored vehicles recreated a continuous picture of the formation of domestic tank building from the models of the Great Patriotic War to modern combat vehicles in service with the Central Military District units. The parade was attended by the famous “thirty-fours”, heavy IS and KV guns, as well as anti-tank self-propelled guns ISU-152 “St. John’s wort, which terrified the Wehrmacht’s tank divisions. Modern combat vehicles of the Russian army at the parade were represented by armored personnel carriers BTR-80, BTR-82AM, T-72B3M tanks.

Also, the first Soviet serial reconnaissance and patrol vehicles BA-64, the famous front-line “lorries” GAZ-AA and the artillery tractors of the S-65 “Stalinets” tractor, which became the artillery tractors of the S-65 “Stalinets” tractor during the Great Patriotic War, took part in the solemn passage.

The patriotic action was attended by servicemen of the guards tank division of the Central Military District, enterprises of the military-industrial complex, representatives of the patriotic education fund “Council of Chiefs of Military Units” and military-patriotic associations of the South Urals. Visitors to the action were shown static platforms for displaying modern and historical armored vehicles, figured piloting of T-72B3 battle tanks, as well as reconstructions of individual episodes of the Great Patriotic War and armed conflicts of the 20th century.

At the end of the event, a parade of multi-temporal armored vehicles was organized for the visitors.

During the static and dynamic display, more than 30 modern combat vehicles in service with the Ural tank division of the Central Military District and more than 20 historical tanks and vehicles were involved.

In total, about 5 thousand residents of the Chelyabinsk region attended the military-patriotic action of the Ural Tank Festival “Armor of Tankograda”, dedicated to the centenary of the national tank building.
