During the operation of the ferry crossing the Bolshaya Ussurka River, the servicemen of the engineering unit of the combined arms army of the Eastern Military District transported about 5 thousand residents of Primorye and more than 4.5 thousand units of automobile equipment.

Due to the destruction of the spans of the wooden bridge across the Bolshaya Ussurka River in connection with the ice drift and stopping traffic on it, residents of three settlements of Primorye had to make a detour over 180 km long. The work of the pontoon ferry made the life of local residents much easier.

At the moment, due to the decline in the water level in the river, the operation of the ferry is temporarily suspended. Military engineers are ready to resume work.

As previously reported, in May, at the request of the Primorsky Territory government and the order of the commander of the Eastern Military District, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Gennady Zhidko, servicemen of the engineering units of the combined-arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO) in Primorye set up a temporary pontoon ferry across the Bolshaya Ussurka River.
