Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko via video link took part in the signing ceremony of an agreement on the development of the tourism infrastructure of the Tula region.

The agreement was signed by Sergey Sukhanov, General Director of the Turizm.RF Corporation, and Alexei Dyumin, Governor of the Tula Region.

According to the document, the parties will soon begin work on master planning of tourist areas and attracting investors.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the importance of tourism development in the region to achieve the goals of the national project “Tourism and the hospitality industry”:

“The large-scale celebrations of the 650th anniversary of the historic Battle of Kulikovo planned in the region include dozens of events. It is necessary already now to lay in the plans a margin of safety in order to satisfy the potential growth of the tourist flow, where necessary, to build hotels, tourist complexes, to establish the work of the service sector. Our joint plans with the region are to ensure a twofold increase in tourist traffic by 2030, up to 2 million people. Taking into account the available instruments of the national project “Tourism and the hospitality industry”, it is quite possible to reach this level, “said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Commenting on the agreement, Alexey Dyumin recalled that the Tula region was the first region in Central Russia to join the active work on infrastructure development within the framework of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry national project. “We have already actively begun cooperation with the Tourism.RF corporation. We consider the development of the infrastructure of tourist clusters – “Oksky” and “Kulikovsky” as a priority in our joint work. I am sure that our cooperation with the corporation will be fruitful and will allow us to bring the regional infrastructure to a fundamentally new level, ”said Alexey Dyumin.

The head of the corporation, Sergei Sukhanov, confirmed that work is already underway: “The agreement with the government of the Tula region allows us to start developing several territories at once, including the historical Kulikovo cluster and the unique natural area“ Romantsevskie Gory ”. In general, the region has unique natural areas, rich in history and culture, and has good transport accessibility. We see great prospects here in terms of ecotourism, educational tourism and weekend travel. “

Joint Stock Company “Corporation” Tourism.RF “” was established on December 18, 2020 on behalf of the Chairman of the Government of Russia Mikhail Mishustin for the development of tourism infrastructure. The corporation previously signed cooperation agreements with a number of regions, including the republics of Altai and Buryatia, Irkutsk and Sakhalin regions, as well as Primorsky Krai.
