Experts from the electronic warfare (EW) units of the Central Military District (CVO) have worked out countering technical reconnaissance and air attack weapons during the exercise, which took place today on the territory of the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as at the Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan.

In the Urals, the crews of the active jamming stations “Krasukha-4” of a separate EW unit of the Central Military District deployed complexes and began combat duty to protect field control points from airborne radar reconnaissance equipment of the imaginary enemy. The servicemen worked out blocking the frequencies of the onboard radar equipment of the enemy’s reconnaissance and unmanned aircraft. In the short-wave range, the calculations of the electronic warfare systems “Murmansk” disorganized the communication and control channels of the air command posts, reconnaissance and strike aircraft of the imaginary enemy at a distance of up to 3 thousand kilometers.

In Kyrgyzstan, the calculations of the electronic warfare systems “Silok-01”, “Silok-02” and “Zhitel” of the united Russian military base Kant created a protected radius in the airspace above the residential zone and the airfield from the attack of unmanned aerial vehicles of the imaginary enemy carrying homemade bombs and conducting aerial photo reconnaissance setting. EW specialists carried out an interception of control by software and hardware methods and took the drones to a safe distance from the base.

In total, more than 500 military personnel were involved in the exercise, including those from the communications, security and counter-terrorism units, as well as more than 50 units of military special equipment.
