The work was carried out within the framework of the “My District” program.

In four districts of the city – Mozhaiskiy, Losinoostrovskiy, Yasenev and Severniy Medvedkovo – modern dog walks have appeared.

Fully equipped functional spaces created as part of the Moscow Mayor program “My region”… Their concept was developed with the participation of experts from the Russian Cynological Federation and the Union of Cynological Organizations of Russia, and focus groups were also held. Told about it Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

“About 1.2 million households in the capital keep dogs, and the number is constantly increasing. There are only about 700 equipped sites for the entire city. 63 percent of Muscovites, according to the survey, note their absence within walking distance. 45 percent of residents do not use them, because they are in an unsatisfactory condition or they are simply not near the house, ”said Natalya Sergunina.

Based on the results of the study of the program “My District”, a standard for sites of a new type was developed. It takes into account many parameters – from aesthetics and comfort to the use of modern environmentally friendly materials.

“These spaces have many advantages in terms of both appearance and functionality. They are conceived as mini-parks: they involve landscaping, the use of environmentally friendly materials, a combination of lawn and high-quality artificial turf, entrances with a vestibule so that the pet cannot run out without the knowledge of the owner. It will be convenient for the owners of tetrapods themselves. There are weather sheds, benches, bicycle parking for them, ”the deputy mayor added.

A site measuring more than 1.5 thousand square meters was opened in the Losinoostrovsky district (Anadyrsky passage, house 47, building 1). Local residents used this area to walk their dogs before, but it was not equipped in any way. Now the site has lighting, fencing, functional simulators for exercising with animals, a walking area and a space for active games.

In Mozhaisky district (Belovezhskaya street, house 81), walking with dogs is now possible on the site, which occupies 526 square meters. Thanks to the landscape solution – an artificial change in the relief – the playground seems even more spacious, and it will be more interesting for animals to play among the hills. For the comfort of the owners, benches with a canopy were installed here.

A modern site measuring 545 square meters was made in Yasenev (Aivazovskogo street, building 5, building 1) – in the place where the townspeople used to walk their dogs. The site has become comfortable and adapted for walking with pets. In particular, it was covered with a wear-resistant lawn, and special equipment for training was installed.

In Severny Medvedkovo (Studeny proezd, house 1a, building 3), a whole park for pets with an area of almost three thousand square meters has been created. It is within walking distance and at the same time it is quite far from the nearest residential buildings. The territory has been used by a kennel club for a long time, but local residents asked to divide it into functional zones so that it would be comfortable to walk with the dogs, and not just train them. On the initiative of Muscovites, separate spaces for free walking of animals, their training and for rest of the owners appeared in the park.

Some of the equipment at all sites – slides, pedestals, ladders, towers, barriers and even benches for rest – are made from environmentally friendly recycled materials, of high quality and safe for dogs and their owners.
