Press Service of the Moscow City Health Department

This became possible thanks to the modernization and overhaul, which were completed a year ago.

V Moscow City Spinal Neurosurgical CenterHospital No. 67 named after L.А. Vorokhobov, since September 10 last year, more than 1.4 thousand operations have been performed. This is almost twice as much as in the same period last year. The figures increased thanks to the modernization of the operating rooms and the overhaul of the spinal center.

“New unique technologies that have appeared in the center after the completion of the major overhaul have significantly improved the quality of patient care. Up to 150 complex spine surgeries are performed here every month, and over 1,400 such surgeries were performed in a year. This is almost twice as much as before the commissioning of a new operational complex in the same period. The capabilities of the center make it possible to avoid performing revision operations – for the entire period of operation of the new complex, such operations were not required for a single patient. This was achieved through the use of advanced intraoperative technologies that control the position of the implants. Thanks to new techniques, patients with spinal pathologies can show physical activity immediately after the operation and quickly return to a full-fledged lifestyle, ”said the deputy head of the Moscow

Department of Health Alexey Tokarev.

How the spinal center has changed after modernization

Thanks to the modernization and overhaul, four new operating units have appeared in the center, which have been equipped with high-tech equipment for the treatment of diseases and injuries of the spine.

In total, we purchased more than 20 units of modern medical equipment, including:

– integrated operating system OR1 Neo;

– a three-dimensional visualization system for microsurgery and open surgery Vitom 3D;

– mobile diagnostic intraoperative X-ray system O-ArmO2;

– mobile endoscopic stand Tessys;

– operational stereomicroscope Hi-R;

– operating microscope OPMI Pentero 900;

– mobile X-ray diagnostic unit Ziehm Vision RFD with a C-shaped frame.

The spinal center also has a unique robotic system Artis Pheno. It allows you to take CT scans of the spine in less than one minute. With the help of this system, 18 complex reconstructive operations have already been performed for the most complex deformities of the spinal canal.

Thanks to the modernization, doctors of the spinal center can use best practices in the treatment of the most common pathologies of the spine. At the same time, minimally invasive methods are increasingly being used. They allow you to minimize the intervention of the surgeon in the patient’s body and provide quick rehabilitation.

Moscow City Spinal Neurosurgical Center of the City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L.А. Vorokhobova is the first international reference center in the capital International Association of Spinal Surgeons AOSpine.

The operating complex of the Moscow Spinal Center employs 10 spinal neurosurgeons and eight operating nurses. Each spine surgery involves two to three surgeons and two operating nurses.
