It is planned to allocate more than 50 billion rubles for the comprehensive development of resort cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters until 2026. Such amounts of funding are indicated in the list of measures for the development of the region, approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The list includes 24 projects that will serve to solve the priority problems of the region. It is, in particular, about improving the state of engineering and communal infrastructure, repairing roads, attracting investments in sanatorium-resort facilities, creating public spaces.

Funding mechanisms have already been identified for three activities related to the reconstruction and expansion of treatment facilities in Pyatigorsk and Mineralnye Vody. For another 21 events, the sources of fundraising and the timing of implementation are subject to clarification. Among them – the construction of transport interchanges, overpasses, the improvement of resort areas and parks, the arrangement of investment sites.

The document signed by Mikhail Mishustin also includes some organizational measures. In particular, the list provides for the cataloging of objects of historical and cultural value, the creation of master plans for the development of resort cities, the development of measures to improve the environmental situation, the formation of proposals for the use of public-private partnership mechanisms to improve the spa complex.

Funds for the implementation of most of the measures are planned to be provided during the formation of the draft federal budget. The Ministry of Economic Development will report to the Government on the results of work under the list.

The document adopted by the Government will significantly improve the quality of communal and transport infrastructure in the resort cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters, and will make the region even more attractive for Russian and foreign tourists.

The development of the tourist potential of the Caucasian Mineral Waters was discussed during the working trip of Mikhail Mishustin to the Stavropol Territory. These issues are also reflected in list of orders Prime Minister following a meeting on the development of the North Caucasian Federal District, which took place on June 15 in Pyatigorsk.
