The educational programs of the new 2021/22 academic year of the Rusnano School League have been launched at the St. Petersburg Pension for the pupils of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The opening ceremony took place in 80 regions of the country where the schools that are part of the League network operate. The central platform was the St. Petersburg cadet corps “Boarding school for pupils of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation”, from which the organizers of the educational program got in touch with all regions: Anton Alekseev, general director of ANGO “School League”; Chairman of the ANGO Expert Council, scientific director of the program, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Elena Kazakova; Director of the Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239, Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Maxim Pratusevich. The guests of honor of the event were the vice-governors of St. Petersburg Vladimir Knyaginin and Irina Potekhina.

The St. Petersburg Boarding House for the pupils of the Russian Ministry of Defense has been chosen as the central site. This is an ultra-modern building with modern laboratories, electronic libraries, where all conditions have been created for extracurricular activities in various circles and sections, including innovative areas. The education system in the Pension, as well as in the system of pre-university education of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, is aimed at the development of a socially active, successful personality, creative initiative, independence of students, multidimensional and innovative thinking, competitiveness, mobility, therefore, the choice of a site for the School League not accidental.

In person, at the sites of 27 regional resource centers, a series of master classes focused on obtaining the skills necessary for a successful life, and lectures on modern science, high technologies and career guidance were held. Schoolchildren were able to see in reality the effects and phenomena generated by the world of nanotechnology: levitation in a magnetic field, hydrophobicity of surfaces, new materials with shape memory, solar LEDs, ferromagnetic and non-Newtonian liquids, Tyndall effect, Van der Waals forces and much more.

Anyone could join the event online: students, their parents, as well as teachers. The event was broadcast on the League’s social networks.
