The Chief of Staff of the Central Military District (CVD), Lieutenant General Mikhail Teplinsky, inspected the units of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan.

During the visit, the Chief of Staff of the Military District met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces – First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda. In the conversation, they discussed the issues of the upcoming exercises with the intelligence forces of the armed forces of the CSTO states “Poisk-2021”, the logistical support units “Echelon-2021” and the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces – “Interaction-2021”, which will be held in October at the Harb- Maidon.

In addition, Lieutenant General Teplinsky heard a report from the commander of the military base, Colonel Sergei Goryachev, on the composition, staffing level and material and technical condition of the compound. At the test site, Lyaur checked the condition of the training and material base and assessed the activities of the unit commanders in organizing the educational process. Special attention was paid to the state of anti-terrorist security of Russian military facilities on the territory of Dushanbe and Bokhtar military towns.

The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. Located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, RCB protection and communications.
