During the Zapad-2021 joint strategic exercise (SSU) of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, servicemen of the submarine sabotage forces and assets (SDSS) of the Baltic Fleet (BF) worked out the anti-sabotage defense of the surface ships basing point.

The breakthrough of conventional underwater saboteurs to the ships loading naval weapons at the base was prevented. During the training battle, the servicemen threw hand-held anti-sabotage grenades, used special SPP-1 underwater pistols, APS submachine guns and edged weapons.

The fighters of the PDSS detachment also played out a scenario to counteract a floating craft violating the sailing regime in the Kaliningrad Sea Canal. A combat group on duty on high-speed boats, upon a special signal, moved forward to intercept the conditional intruder, simultaneously “throwing out” the divers. The conditional enemy put up resistance, as a result of which an assault and capture of the boat was carried out with the use of weapons.

The event involved about 30 military personnel, 3 Raptor patrol boats, 3 high-speed boats, as well as special and robotic equipment for monitoring the underwater situation.
