The military-political situation in the CSTO collective security regions, as well as the current activities and future plans of the Collective Security Treaty Organization were discussed.

Special attention is paid to the situation around Afghanistan. A list of measures was approved to respond to the security challenges of the Central Asian states caused by a possible aggravation of the terrorist threat. In particular, measures are planned to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border, conduct special command and staff military exercises, a special anti-drug operation “Channel” and an interstate operation to counter illegal migration “Illegal” on the southern borders of the CSTO.

Agreements were reached on strengthening interaction between competent authorities and special services to identify and neutralize extremist and terrorist cells. The mechanisms of interaction to counter the subversive propaganda of terrorist organizations in cyberspace were discussed. It was proposed to strengthen interaction between the CSTO and the SCO on Afghan issues.
