In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a tactical flight exercise was held with pilots of modern combat aircraft of an assault aviation regiment of the Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Eastern Military District (VVO).

At one of the stages of the event on the introductory task, the pilots of the Su-25 “Grach” attack aircraft landed on a conditionally damaged and contaminated airfield.

At the same time, before landing, the aircraft flew over the airfield at an extremely low altitude, in order to objectively assess the nature and extent of “damage” to the runway, with the decision of the pilots to land.

Upon arrival, the pilots received personal protective equipment for skin and respiratory organs and were evacuated to a safe area, and the aircraft underwent a full special treatment with degassing formulations. To create a situation close to combat, aerosol countermeasures were used in the exercise.

In addition, the crews of attack aircraft performed some elements of complex aerobatics and improved combat maneuvering at medium and low altitudes, in the dark they worked out take-off and landing approach along the illuminated strip.

The exercise was attended by over 400 military personnel of flight and flight technical personnel, more than 50 units of military special aerodrome support equipment were involved.
