The crews of the MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors of the Central Military District (CVD), as part of the tactical flight exercise, performed combat launches of air-to-air missiles at the Telemba training ground in the Republic of Buryatia.

During the main stage of the exercise, the pilots detected fighter-type air targets using a modern airborne radar Zaslon-M, then conducted combat launches of long-range missiles at Strizh air target systems operating in the near layers of the stratosphere. In total, more than 20 sorties were performed during the practical phase.

The exercise, which will end in mid-September, involves 12 aircraft, including MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors, An-12 and An-26 transport aircraft, as well as about 100 military personnel from among the flight, engineering and technical personnel and the support group and flight control.
