More than 400 servicemen of the combined Russian-Belarusian paratrooper unit and 39 pieces of equipment parachuted from the Il-76MD military transport aircraft and entered the battle at the Brestsky training ground in the Republic of Belarus during the West-2021 joint strategic exercise.

After capturing the site and landing, the subunits settled on the defensive line designated by the command.

A battalion of paratroopers of the Pskov airborne assault unit of the Airborne Forces, having flown from the take-off airfield “Kresty” at a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers, landed from a height of 600 meters using D-10 parachute systems.

Servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus loaded equipment and personnel onto aircraft at the Machulishchi airfield near Minsk and stood up in the ranks of the VTA aircraft approaching the drop point. Using D-6 parachutes, units of Belarusian paratroopers landed at the designated landing point. The departure of the ship’s crews of the aircraft was carried out with an interval of one minute.

During the active phase of the exercise, paratroopers from Russia and Belarus worked out airborne assault operations at the Brestsky training ground. After the landing of personnel and equipment, the guards destroyed the mock enemy and, holding advantageous lines, ensured the successful actions of the main grouping of troops (forces).

The actions of the combined airborne subunit blocked three bridges across the section of the water barrier, which did not allow the imaginary enemy to interfere with the actions of the troops and ensure the deployment of motorized rifle subunits in the interests of the grouping of forces at the range.
