Pupils of the Tver Suvorov Military School (SVU) visited the Hero City of Moscow.

Accompanied by the organizing teachers, a sightseeing tour on a motor ship along the Moskva River was organized for the Suvorovites, from which one could see the walls of the Kremlin, St. Basil’s Cathedral, the monument to Peter the Great, monasteries and temples, as well as the modern architecture of the city.

Also, the students of the school visited the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Gora. During the excursion, the children visited the Hall of Generals, which houses the gallery of the Knights of the Order of Victory, the highest military award, as well as the Hall of Fame, where the names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union are immortalized, and the Hall of Memory and Mourning, which houses the sculptural group “Mourning mother”. This hall is intended to perpetuate and honor the memory of more than 26 million Soviet citizens who died and went missing during the bloodiest war in the history of mankind.

In addition, the Suvorovites examined the six dioramas presented in the museum’s exposition, dedicated to the largest military operations of the Great Patriotic War. Of particular interest was a collection of objects telling about the war: weapons, military equipment, awards, uniforms, etc.

At the end of the excursion, all the children were greatly impressed by their visit to Moscow.
