Russian peacekeepers continue to conduct Peace Lessons in educational institutions of Nagorno-Karabakh. This time, the servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent held an educational action in the secondary school of the village of Khramort, Askeran region, based on the principle of an interactive lesson with the involvement of Russian specialists from the military traffic police, humanitarian demining units and fire brigades of the peacekeeping contingent.

More than 50 students of the school were told about the main activities of the peacekeeping mission of Russian military personnel in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The servicemen of the humanitarian demining unit explained to the children the increased danger of being in areas where hostilities had taken place earlier due to the large number of explosive items. Sappers demonstrated the modern equipment of Russian military engineers – the OVR-2 Sokol combined-arms demining kit designed to protect the engineer from the damaging factors of the explosion. The schoolchildren were told about the IMP-S2 mine detectors and the INVU-3M “Korshun” portable proximity explosive device finders, which allow detecting explosive devices based on electronic components.

In the courtyard of the school, Russian sappers demonstrated to the children how the demining of the area was going on and demonstrated the work of mine detectors. Everyone could try on equipment and feel like a real peacekeeping engineer.

“We are very glad that you came to us, thank you very much for your presence here. Our children are very glad of your arrival, we, too, that you are with us, protect us. It’s good that we are friends with you, thank you very much, ”said Russian language teacher Marina Aminyan.

The servicemen of the fire department of the peacekeeping contingent told the children about the causes of the fires, about how the AC-6-40 fire truck at the KamAZ base works, introduced them to the emergency rescue equipment, the work of the crew, and showed them protective clothing and equipment. Children with interest tried on the firefighter’s equipment, being in the role of a firefighter, and also tried to extinguish a conventional fire with the help of the OU-3 fire extinguisher, as well as using the fireman’s hand barrel. The students’ genuine interest was aroused by the action of the rescuers, during which they deployed and laid a fire line with the supply of a fire extinguishing agent in the form of foam.

“Today, thanks to the peacekeepers, a“ peace lesson ”was held at the Khramort school, the children got acquainted with safety precautions, fire-fighting equipment, actions upon detection of explosive objects, got acquainted with the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The children are happy, the teachers are also grateful, ”explained the school director Artur Vazekyan.
