Veterans-Muscovites will receive one-time financial aid in connection with the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet counteroffensive against the Nazi army in the battle for Moscow. Compared to 2020, the amount of the payment will be doubled and will amount to 40 thousand rubles. The corresponding order was signed Sergei Sobyanin.

According to tradition, one-time financial assistance will be received by disabled people and participants of the Great Patriotic War, participants in the defense of Moscow, including those awarded the medal “For the Defense of Moscow”, participants in the construction of defensive lines near Moscow, employees of enterprises, organizations and institutions, military personnel, students of craft, railway schools, schools of factory training, who worked in Moscow from July 22, 1941 to January 25, 1942.

Four thousand veterans are expected to receive the payment.

Formerly Sergei Sobyanin instructedto award the badge “80 years of the battle for Moscow” to all veterans who defended the capital. More than 1,100 veterans who participated in the greatest battle of the Great Patriotic War will receive the award. Of these, 759 people live in Moscow, 300 in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 77 in foreign countries. The presentation of the badge will begin in mid-September.
