The Amur Region will receive more than 2 billion rubles to help residents affected by floods. This order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Most of the amount – 1.3 billion rubles – will go towards providing direct payments to people who have been left homeless. Another 700 million will be directed to compensate the region’s expenses for payments related to the complete or partial loss of property.

Thus, more than 700 families will receive assistance.

“I ask you to strictly control the situation so that people receive funds in a timely manner and do not become homeless,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized at meeting of the Government on September 9.

Also, two orders were signed to reimburse the budgets of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Amur Region to help victims of emergencies. We are talking about the costs of providing one-time material assistance, as well as payments related to the loss of property. The source of funds will be the Government’s reserve fund.

In summer, floods occurred in certain regions of the Far Eastern Federal District due to heavy rains. The flood situation has become one of the main topics at a meeting on the elimination of the consequences of emergencies in the Far East, which took place on July 27 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. On behalf of the President, it was conducted by Mikhail Mishustin during his working trip to the Far Eastern Federal District.
