In the course of going out to sea, the crews of the Stoyky and Steregushchy corvettes and the Yaroslav Mudry patrol ship in the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet (BF) successfully carried out a set of measures to repel enemy air attacks.

According to the plan of the exercise, the fleet’s reconnaissance means recorded a massive take-off of the air of a simulated enemy with the aim of destroying the grouping of ships of the Baltic Fleet located in one of the regions of the Baltic Sea. Data on them were promptly transferred to the ships.

Several groups of air targets were taken to escort by shipborne radar detection systems. The front-line bomber Su-24 and the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters of the naval aviation of the fleet, imitating high-speed and low-flying air targets, acted as a mock enemy.

Electronic warfare equipment was activated on the ships and active and passive jamming was delivered. When targets approached the line of fire, the crews of the ships simultaneously carried out practical firing from the ship complexes AK-630 and A-190, during which the aircraft of the simulated enemy was destroyed.

Also, during the exit to the sea, the crews of the ships of the fleet conducted a complex of artillery firing at large and small sea shields, imitating a detachment of combat ships of a conventional enemy. In addition, the firing was carried out at buoy fields beyond the line of sight, which imitated the coastal artillery of a conventional enemy.
