Today, the grand opening of a new building of the fire and rescue unit No. 32 in the urban-type settlement Proletarsky, Rakityansky district, took place.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sergei Potapov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Acting Governor of the Belgorod Region, and employees of the fire and rescue unit.

Previously, the fire department was located in a building built in 1978, which did not meet the technical requirements for such facilities.

Sergei Petrovich Potapov, head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Main Directorate for the Belgorod Region, noted that the construction of a new building for the fire and rescue unit is an important step towards ensuring the safety of residents of the area and increasing the efficiency of firefighters. Such an object is simply necessary here, because today about 36 thousand people live in the district, it includes 62 settlements, on the territory of which there are more than 30 schools and preschool educational institutions, several hundred enterprises of various forms of ownership are functioning, objects of the agro-industrial complex are being developed and individual housing construction. Their safety will be ensured by a new fire and rescue unit.

After the traditional cutting of the red ribbon, the premises of the new unit and samples of equipment in service with the firefighters were shown. The participants of the event were able to make sure that all the conditions for the successful performance of firefighters’ service were created in the new fire station: a spacious garage for equipment, a classroom, a room for rest and eating, a hose post, and a GDZS post.

It is worth noting that the day before, the Acting Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov handed over the keys to a new fire tank truck equipped with all the necessary modern equipment.

The new fire trucks will replace the old special equipment, which, in turn, will be transferred to volunteer fire brigades in rural areas. In total, by the end of the year, about 30 units of new equipment will be transferred to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Belgorod Region, and another new fire and rescue unit under construction will be opened.
