Waterside recreational areas were patrolled daily by 60 security specialists, and on hot days their number increased to 90.

Last summer, Moscow rescuers helped 202 residents of the capital who were resting by the reservoirs, of which 63 people were rescued. “Over the past summer, more than 600 thousand people have rested near the capital’s reservoirs. To ensure the safety of people and prevent possible accidents, over 15 thousand rescuers, firefighters and volunteers were on duty. Every day 60 rescuers patrolled the water area and places of mass recreation near the water, on hot days their number increased to 90 “, – said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for housing and communal services and improvement Peter Biryukov.

Thanks to preventive measures, it was possible to maintain the downward trend in the number of victims on the water. Compared to 2011, this indicator has decreased by more than one and a half times. “In the summer, 202 people received help from rescuers on the water, of which 63 were rescued. The response time to incidents today does not exceed five minutes. For constant monitoring of recreation areas and water area, mobile posts were organized, video cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles were used, ”added Pyotr Biryukov.

Particular attention is paid to preventive work with the population. Over the summer period, Moscow water rescuers have carried out more than 102 thousand activities, including patrolling with volunteers and the police, conversations with vacationers.
