A military parade dedicated to the Independence Day of Mexico was held in the city of Mexico City, in which 30 servicemen of the separate commandant of the Preobrazhensky regiment of the Western Military District (ZVO) took part.

Russian servicemen arrived at the special invitation of the local authorities. This was the tenth participation of Russian military personnel in Mexican military parades. The first took place in 2010, when Mexico celebrated the 200th anniversary of the start of the struggle for independence.

The passage of the “Transfigurations” delighted the residents and guests of the Mexican capital. The servicemen covered over 10 km. along the main streets of the capital.

In total, several hundred servicemen from more than a dozen countries took part in the military parade. The ceremony also involved military equipment produced in Russia and in service with the Mexican army.

Servicemen of the Guard of Honor battalion of the separate Commandant Preobrazhensky Regiment of the Western Military District have already visited five countries during the current year, where they took part in solemn events, and in the near future they will go to South Ossetia, where they will hold lessons to exchange experience.
