Servicemen of the engineering regiment of the combined-arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO), stationed in the Trans-Baikal Territory, during the exercise, worked out the procedure for the extraction and purification of water using the latest equipment in service.

At one of the stages of the exercise, specialists from the engineering troops equipped a water extraction and purification point, and also met the standards for the deployment of an SKO-10 integrated water purification station.

When arranging a field water supply point, special attention was paid to the correct location of the elements of the working platform, camouflage and protection of equipment from reconnaissance and air attack of a conventional enemy.

The servicemen took water from stationary sources, purified and desalinated it – in total, more than 10 tons of liquid were processed. Subsequently, water in special tanks was delivered to units performing training tasks near the point of permanent deployment.

According to its tactical and technical characteristics, the station cleans water not only from natural pollution, but also from poisonous and radioactive substances, bacterial agents and potent poisons.

About 100 servicemen took part in the practical stage of the exercise, more than a dozen units of military and special equipment from the engineering regiment of the Air Defense Forces were involved.
