In the regions of deployment of military units and associations of the Southern Military District (YuVO), representatives of military units of territorial defense have concluded more than a thousand contracts with citizens wishing to replenish the units of the country’s military army reserve (BARS).

To conclude a contract on stay in the mobilization reserve, citizens apply to the military commissariats at the place of military registration with a corresponding statement, and also undergo a medical examination.

The ranks of the reservists of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation can be joined by citizens of Russia who are fit for health reasons (category A or B), with an education not lower than the basic general (9 classes). The age limit is 42 for warrant officers, sergeants and soldiers, 52 for junior officers and 57 for senior officers.

The first contract for admission to the reserve is for three years. The subsequent one can be signed for 5 years, or until the age limit of a soldier is reached.

The first training camps with subdivisions of BARS YuVO are scheduled to be held in the second half of September this year. For the upcoming training camps with reservists, 23 training facilities were deployed at 9 training grounds of the district, 240 officers and sergeants were selected – the leaders of the classes.

Those who have joined the ranks of the reserve will undergo training sessions monthly and military camps once a year to maintain high combat readiness.

“Citizens in reserve who have expressed a desire on a voluntary basis to conclude a contract with the Armed Forces of Russia on being in reserve should be kept in the most prepared mobilization state. This is achieved by regularly involving them in combat training in the field as part of subunits, “- stressed the commander of the Southern Military District, Army General Alexander Dvornikov.

During classes and training sessions, reservists are provided with free three meals a day, they are guaranteed free medical care and life and health insurance. For the entire period of service, the reservist is provided with uniforms free of charge. At the time of the passage of military training, citizens are released from work or study with the preservation of their place and wages. In addition to his main earnings at the place of permanent work, the reservist receives a salary for participating in training camps and trainings. In peacetime, reservists will carry out tasks for the protection and defense of especially important military and state facilities, maintaining law and order, and eliminating the consequences of dangerous natural phenomena.
