Medical specialists of the Russian military base of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (YuVO) during a bilateral tactical battalion exercise worked out actions to search for and evacuate conditionally wounded servicemen at the Tarskoye training ground in South Ossetia.

Military medics performed a search and evacuation of “injured” servicemen from faulty damaged armored vehicles using the “Strelets” reconnaissance, control and communications complex.

The “wounded” soldiers used tablets included in the individual complex to call for help. The commander of the medical unit, having received the coordinates of the location of the victims, gave instructions to assist the evacuation group.

During the evacuation, the latest means of fixing the body parts of the victims were used from the complete set of a special RS-05 knapsack for medical units. For the transfer of the “wounded”, transport-immobilizing mattresses “Cocoon” were used, allowing to ensure complete immobility of the victim and to move him in vertical and inclined positions.

In total, about 1.5 servicemen of the Southern Military District took part in the bilateral exercises, over 200 units of weapons and military equipment were involved.

At the same time, four bilateral battalion tactical exercises are being held in the Southern Military District at combined-arms training grounds located in the Volgograd Region, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Chechen Republic and at a military base in the Republic of South Ossetia. About 6 thousand servicemen take part in them, about 300 pieces of weapons and equipment are involved, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery pieces and multiple launch rocket systems. For the purpose of interspecific interaction, more than 40 aircraft and helicopters of army and operational-tactical aviation have been attracted from the association of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District.
