As part of the summit of the heads of the SCO member states, on September 16, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda.

The Chairman of the EEC Board noted the scale and exceptional importance of the events held in Tajikistan by the SCO and CSTO for the entire Eurasian space.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU countries and Tajikistan is actively developing and has great potential. In the first half of 2021, mutual trade amounted to USD 1.15 billion, showing an increase of 41% compared to the same period in 2020.

“The EAEU is ready to develop cooperation with Tajikistan, using the entire arsenal of interaction formats available to the Union. I am sure that the result of this work will be an increase in the volume of supplies of products to the EAEU countries and the strengthening of the economy of Tajikistan as a whole, “said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that the Commission is ready to provide the Government of Tajikistan with the necessary information and analytical support.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed topical issues of mutual interest.


The EAEU countries and Tajikistan are united by active trade and economic cooperation, a common history and close humanitarian ties, including long-standing interaction within the CIS, CSTO and SCO. In 2020, the foreign trade turnover of the EAEU states with Tajikistan amounted to USD 1.77 billion. Already in the first half of 2021, significant growth is noticeable – turnover of USD 1.15 billion (+ 41%), exports of USD 950 million (+ 28%), imports of USD 200 million (2.6 times).
