Accompanied by the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for Moscow Sergey Moroz, Human Rights Ombudsman in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova, Human Rights Ombudsman in Moscow Tatyana Potyaeva and the Ombudsmen of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia checked the observance of the electoral rights of citizens during the elections deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

During the visit, the human rights defenders got acquainted with the main objects of the institution, an exposition on the history of the Butyrka prison, and visited the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The experts studied the work of the polling station on the territory of the pre-trial detention center, and also observed the voting process of persons in custody.

Tatyana Moskalkova noted that the voting process in remand prison No. 2 is organized in accordance with the electoral legislation, in compliance with the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological safety. The suspects and the accused in the pre-trial detention center have been given the opportunity to exercise their suffrage in full.
