The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, voted in the election of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation at the site opened on the territory of the 45th separate special purpose brigade of the Airborne Forces.

“As it should be in our country, voting began from the East, from the Eastern Military District and the Pacific Fleet. All districts and fleets vote. Voting is actively going on in the Central Military District. Traditionally, in the Armed Forces, all servicemen and their families take the most active part in the elections. There is no doubt that this time the voting will be organized and active, as it always has been, ”the head of the military department told reporters.

Sergei Shoigu stressed that for every serviceman and citizen of Russia, participation in the elections to elect the legislative branch is an important and responsible task.

“I would very much like such days to become more festive, because this is our life. Life, which should, one way or another, be built according to the relevant laws, which are adopted, including by the State Duma. I hope that everyone will come and everyone will vote, ”added the Minister of Defense.

At the exit from the polling station, the head of the military department was photographed at the request of the guys who came here with their parents. One of them – Daniile Kiriyenko, who said that he dreams of becoming a paratrooper, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu presented his cap. “If you study well, you will be a general!” Shoigu said.

Note that the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation participates in voting at polling stations opened on the territories of military units. In particular, at the site located on the territory of the 45th special forces brigade, the commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, voted.

Despite the fact that almost 100 percent of the military personnel are vaccinated, anti-killing measures are held at polling stations on all three voting days. All servicemen and civilian personnel of the Armed Forces have the opportunity to vote, not only in Russia, but also in the locations of Russian military bases abroad.
