Tatyana Golikova meets the WorldSkills Russia national team

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova met with members of the WorldSkills Russia national team at the Boiling Point in Moscow. In the coming days, 57 contestants from all over the country will travel to the Austrian city of Graz to compete for the medals of the European Professional Skills Championship EuroSkills Graz 2021. The championship will be held from 22 to 26 September 2021.

We won Budapest – it was an unprecedentedly great performance, we won silver in Kazan, although we believe that this is gold, and I understand that it is especially exciting now. The best experts trained you, they tried to achieve the same results as in Budapest. This is not just a passing event – it will to some extent predetermine your future life and profession, – Tatiana Golikova addressed the participants of the national team. – Your contribution, participation, the championship will be another part of the development of blue-collar professions in the Russian Federation. The WorldSkills Russia national team is a team of contestants representing Russia at international professional skill championships. At the European Championship in 2021, 57 young professionals from 15 regions of the country – Moscow, St. Petersburg, the republics of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Altai, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk, Orenburg, Ulyanovsk, Lipetsk, Tyumen regions, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories – will demonstrate his mastery in 48 competencies in the fields of construction and construction technologies, manufacturing, engineering, information and communication technologies, creativity and design, transport and logistics, as well as in the service sector. In total, about 400 competitors from all over Europe will take part in the competition.

“The WorldSkills movement itself and its breakthrough since 2013 in Leipzig, when we were the penultimate, to Budapest and Kazan, made the movement not only recognizable in Russia, not just flagship in terms of blue-collar occupations, but also predetermined a completely new trend in development the labor market in the attention of our leading industries and social services for the development of these professions, in a new socio-economic initiative, which is supported by the President of the country, is professionalism. According to Robert Urazov, the preparation of the active staff was especially difficult given the current epidemiological situation.

The EuroSkills European Championship is a significant event in the field of vocational education and training in Europe. The largest international professional skill competition for young people under the age of 25 is held every two years in one of the 31 countries participating in WorldSkills Europe. WorldSkills championships in Russia are annually held as part of the “Young Professionals” federal project, which is part of the “Education” national project.

Next year, the team members will go to the 46th WorldSkills World Championship in Shanghai (China). In 2023, Russia will host the European Skills Championship for the first time. EuroSkills St. Petersburg 2023 will be held from 16 to 20 August in the Northern capital.
