Before starting the cleaning, the divers examined the bottom.

City services completed work on cleaning and deepening the water areas of 32 passenger berths in the capital.

“Specialists of the municipal economy complex carried out hydraulic works to clean 26 berths and deepen the water areas of another six. The need for such work is caused by the pollution of the river bottom with large household waste and scrap metal, which can damage motor ships and negatively affect the safety of passenger transportation, “said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for housing and communal services and improvement

Peter Biryukov.

City services carried out hydraulic engineering works at the berths and piers of Zaryadye, Patriarchy, Novospassky Most, Simonovskaya Embankment, Bolshoy Kamenny Most, Bolshoy Ustinsky Most, Klenovy Boulevard, Maryino, Zakharkovo, Andreevsky, Kutuzovsky, Setun, Brateyevo, Kolomenskoye, Krymsky Mostili, TsPK , Frunzenskaya Embankment, Krylatskoye, Kuntsevo, Verkhniye Mnevniki, Luzhniki – Severny, Fili, Vorobyovy Gory, Pechatniki, Hotel Ukraine, Luzhniki – Tsentralny, Tretyakovsky, as well as at three berths of Vorobyevskaya and Andreevskaya embankments.

Before cleaning the waters, the divers examined the bottom. “The work was carried out from a barge equipped with a crane for removing large household waste. A vessel equipped with a special bucket for lifting soil and silt sediments on board was involved in more complex measures to deepen the bottom, ”said Pyotr Biryukov.

The head of the municipal economy complex added that for the first time, work on cleaning and deepening the bottom in Moscow was carried out last year during a large-scale reconstruction of the berths of the Northern River Station.
