The specialists of the municipal economy complex have completed the main work on the improvement of the outbound highway, which stretches from Bolshiye Kamenshchiki Street to Proletarsky Prospekt. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.
The project was launched last year; its implementation took place in two stages. First, we improved the area from Bolshiye Kamenshiki streets to the Kolomenskaya metro stationthen from Andropov Avenue to Proletarsky Avenue.
“The main idea of the improvement of this territory was to create a comfortable and safe urban environment for local residents while maintaining the main transit function of the highway,” said Pyotr Biryukov. “All overhead cable lines were removed underground, the pavement and roadway coverage was renewed, and an additional drainage network with storm inlets was made.”
For public transport passengers, modern stopping pavilions with wireless communication and charging slots were installed.
“At the intersection of Novospassky Proezd and 3rd Krutitsky Lane, at the intersection of Andropov Avenue and Nagatinskaya Street, elevated tram platforms were made. Due to the fact that they are raised to the level of the floor of trams, it is now more convenient for people with disabilities, elderly passengers and parents with children to enter the carriages, ”the deputy mayor added.
Experts reconstructed pedestrian crossings, where it was necessary, installed supports with contrasting lighting, thanks to this, the markings on the pedestrian crossing and people on it will be clearly visible in the dark.
It is planned to complete the work on the improvement of the highway in October this year.
