Immediately in three regions of the country, Ivanovo, Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions, a tactical exercise of the parachute battalion and units of combat, logistical and technical support of the Ivanovo Guards airborne formation was held, with live firing.

In accordance with the concept of the exercise, the units of the formation had to work out the conduct of a mobile defense and offensive both day and night.

As part of the exercise, the issues of the transfer of troops over long distances in a combined method were worked out, during which the units made a march with a length of more than 500 kilometers, and also carried out the transfer of personnel by military transport aircraft.

In order to complicate the fulfillment of the assigned task by the combat units, the conditional enemy was divided into small groups and dispersed within a radius of 10 km.

After conducting aerial reconnaissance, the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) complexes and identifying the most important objects of the conditional enemy, an air strike was launched, after which the paratrooper units, with the support of artillery and under the cover of BMD-2 airborne combat vehicles, carried out an offensive on the position of a conditional enemy, capturing an advantageous line.

In addition, during the exercise, the issues of evacuating the wounded from the battlefield and their delivery to the field hospital of the compound for medical assistance were worked out.

The evacuation of damaged equipment and its restoration was carried out by the forces of the repair company of the compound.

After completing the immediate task, the paratrooper units marched on standard equipment to a new area located 50 kilometers from the landing site and occupied advantageous lines.

During the movement of the column, introductory instructions were worked out to repel the attack of sabotage reconnaissance groups.

One of the airborne companies had to work out an offensive at night, during which the paratroopers showed competent and professional actions.

At the final stage of the exercise, with the support of artillery, a stage of combat firing of paratroopers in defense was held, where numerous introductions were worked out to change the situation during the combined arms battle.

Summing up the results of the exercise, the commander of the Ivanovo Guards airborne unit of the Guard, Colonel Viktor Gunaza, noted the professional and well-coordinated actions of all personnel involved in the exercise.

In total, more than 800 military personnel and about 400 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved in the exercise.
