During a working trip to Novorossiysk, representatives of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Defense visited the Heroes’ Square museum complex, where they laid flowers to the fallen soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. In the administration of Novorossiysk, they took part in a meeting with the leadership of the city, and then visited the 108th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment with a check.

During the meeting, the enormous role of patriotic education of young people was noted. Members of the public council personally talked with the head of the municipal formation of Novorossiysk Igor Dyachenko and other representatives of the city leadership.

During the meeting, issues of organizing a training and methodological center for military-patriotic education of youth “Avangard” were discussed. According to representatives of the leadership, the material and technical base of military units is used for such purposes in Novorossiysk.

At the same time, military field training and pre-war training events are regularly held for schoolchildren. All this instills in them a sense of duty to the Fatherland.

During a visit to the 108th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment, representatives of the Public Council carefully familiarized themselves with the living conditions of servicemen, with the training and material base of the military unit.

Not only servicemen of the Airborne Forces, but also journalists gathered here to talk with the guests of the capital: on the territory of the regiment, practical training courses “Bastion” are held for them. Similar courses for military journalists are held annually. According to the plan of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, each new training stream arrives at the training ground in one of the garrisons, where the course of theoretical studies is supplemented by practical training, which simulates conditions as close as possible to combat.

“It was especially interesting to see how the Bastion courses work here. They are carried out by the Russian Ministry of Defense together with other power structures. These are future journalists who are trained to work in very harsh conditions of various conflicts, hot spots, ”said Pavel Gusev, chairman of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Defense.

At the Maritime Cultural Center of Novorossiysk, members of the council awarded the servicemen of the Navy and the Airborne Forces with diplomas. Traditionally, servicemen with many children were presented with valuable gifts – smart TVs.

As a result of the trip, the members of the Public Council were satisfied with what they saw.

“It was very important for us to come here, because the Novorossiysk region is a place covered with glory, with those victories that our soldiers won during the Great Patriotic War. And, you know, the most important impression is how they can and keep the memory of the victims here, of those people who performed the feat. Despite the most difficult conditions, they were able to win. Along with this, we saw today’s Armed Forces. They are provided with the most modern technology. Stunning buildings, terrific conditions for service, excellent food, but most importantly, great weapons and the spirit of the guys. The Public Council of the Ministry of Defense often travels to various regions of the country. Here, we are completely satisfied. We have a feeling that the commanders who are responsible for their subordinates here are valiantly performing their duty, they are wonderful soldiers and citizens of Russia, ” Pavel Gusev summed up the trip.
