On September 20, a weekly conference call was held under the leadership of the Acting Minister of Emergencies of Russia Alexander Chupriyan. During the meeting, the stabilization of the situation with natural fires and floods was noted.

At the moment, a difficult flood situation persists in Buryatia, where more than 40 residential buildings and 2.2 thousand household plots have been flooded. On the Amur River, a flood wave passed Blagoveshchensk and is expected near Khabarovsk by September 28, without reaching critical levels.

At the moment, there are 25 hotbeds of wildfires on the territory of the country. There are no threats to settlements and economic facilities.

During the reporting period, fire and rescue units responded to more than 5,700 man-made fires, and voluntary fire brigades were involved in the elimination of more than 300 of them.

Over 1.4 thousand people were rescued by the fire and rescue units of the EMERCOM of Russia during the elimination of the consequences of more than 2.2 thousand road accidents. Over 240 people were rescued during the rescue and search operations. Rescuers EMERCOM of Russia keep under control the safety of the passage of tourist routes by more than 200 groups with a total number of over 1.9 thousand people.

The department’s pyrotechnics found and defused 2.1 thousand explosives, including 39 bombs.

At water bodies, compared to the same period last year, there is a 2-fold decrease in the number of accidents.

From September 17 to September 19, the command and control bodies of the Russian Emergencies Ministry functioned in an enhanced mode, ensuring security at polling stations.
