The troops of the Western Military District, which took part in the joint strategic Russian-Belarusian exercise (SSU) “West-2021”, continue to return to their places of permanent deployment in the Voronezh, Moscow, Kursk, Ivanovsk, Belgorod, Tver, Smolensk, Tambov and Bryansk regions after completing the tasks in the Republic of Belarus and at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

Military units are marching to railway stations, where they are loading onto railway platforms. About five military echelons have already arrived at their destinations, where specialists have taken up the maintenance of weapons and military equipment. Several more echelons with equipment and personnel are on the way.

In total, up to 200 thousand personnel, about 80 aircraft and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, including 290 tanks, 240 guns, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, took part in the exercise “West-2021” on the territory of Russia and Belarus. as well as up to 15 ships. The maximum number of personnel involved in the exercise of military units subject to the Vienna Document 2011 on the territory of the Russian Federation did not exceed 6400 servicemen.

The final return of military command and control bodies and troops to the points of permanent deployment is planned until mid-October of this year.
