The combat crews of the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems of the Western Military District (ZVO) anti-aircraft missile formation in the Kursk region, during the planned command and staff exercise, successfully repelled the air-missile strike of the mock enemy.

As part of the exercise, the issue of covering ground targets and troops from air strikes by a simulated enemy was practiced.

To complicate the task as much as possible, different types of aircraft acted as a conditional enemy: Su-30SM fighters, as well as Mi-8AMTSh helicopters.

The aircraft entered the exercise area from different directions, performed anti-missile maneuvers, performed flights at maximum, average and minimum altitudes, and performed complex aerobatics.

In the course of completing the tasks, all targets were timely detected, taken for escort and destroyed by electronic launches at the entrance to the far border of the affected area of the complexes. In the course of repelling the air attack, the crews of the Buk-M3 air defense missile system made more than 10 simulated launches.

More than 100 military personnel of the Western Military District took part in the exercise, about 20 units of military equipment were involved.
