The crews of the small artillery ship (IAC) “Astrakhan” and the small hydrographic vessel “Anatoly Guzhvin” of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) completed a friendly visit to the port of Baku of the Azerbaijan Republic.

Earlier on September 18, KFL ships entered the port of Baku in order to strengthen and develop cooperation between the fleets of the two countries in the Caspian Sea.

The meeting ceremony was attended by officials of the Naval Forces (Navy) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan.

The Russian delegation led by the commander of the squadron of the KFL ships, captain of the second rank Vladimir Zaitsev, was received by the commander of the Azerbaijani Navy, Rear Admiral Subkhan Bekirov. The parties discussed the development and strengthening of military cooperation between the fleets of the two countries in the Caspian Sea.

At the end of the meeting, Russian and Azerbaijani sailors exchanged souvenirs.

Representatives of the CFL visited the monument to the sailors of the “Cuba” ship located in the village of Shuvelan, laid flowers and paid tribute to the memory of the dead sailors. During the visit, the servicemen of Russia and Azerbaijan held a friendly volleyball match. In addition, an excursion around Baku was organized for the crews of Russian warships, during which the CFL servicemen got acquainted with the cultural and historical monuments of the Azerbaijani capital.
