For the search and rescue team of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory, a weekly certification according to the INSARAG methodology has begun.

Early this morning, the rescuers began a practical training session that will last 36 hours. During the exercise, they will demonstrate how they can look for people under the rubble, how professionally they can provide work on the rubble, create safe conditions for both the victim and themselves, provide first aid, and safely remove the injured.

For 4 years, the detachment has been preparing to obtain the right to take part in international rescue operations, to be involved in the elimination of emergencies, primarily the consequences of earthquakes, around the world. During this time, dozens of special trainings, seminars, practical exercises were held with the participation of Russian and foreign experts, representatives of the international consultative group on search and rescue operations (INSARAG).

As part of the final stage of certification, the PSO team of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory must show that it fully meets the criteria that are presented at the international level.

The attestation commission includes 9 foreign experts in certain areas from teams that have already passed such attestation. During the preliminary stage, they got acquainted with the equipment of the unit, the level of training of specialists, etc. Experts very carefully check equipment and equipment that allows rescuers to work autonomously for at least 10 days, the ability to organize their work and the work of teams from other countries.
