During a tactical exercise with a battalion tactical group (BTGr) of the Marine Corps of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL), mobile units for countering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will be involved for the first time.

The flotilla’s radio-electronic warfare (EW) specialists will work out the tasks of detecting and classifying drones flying at different altitudes, as well as reconnaissance and attack drones of a conventional enemy, organize interaction and data transfer to electronic warfare and air defense systems.

Also, the calculations of the R-934BMV and R-330Zh “Zhitel” electronic warfare systems will ensure the interception, suppression of control channels and the transmission of multimedia information of the “enemy” UAVs.

As part of the mobile tactical groups of air defense and electronic warfare against UAVs, duty sniper units will be involved, which will perform the tasks of detecting and neutralizing small targets.

To engage targets at altitudes from 50 to 400 meters, servicemen will use 7.62-mm SVD sniper rifles and 12.7-mm ASVK sniper systems, which can hit targets at ranges up to 1500 m. In addition, fire support will be provided by calculations of a portable anti-aircraft missile complex “Igla”, which are also part of the air defense groups.

In total, more than 500 CFL servicemen will be involved in the exercises, about 200 units of military and special equipment will be involved.
