On September 25, the fifth festival of financial literacy and entrepreneurial culture will begin in Moscow, which will be held online. The grand opening will take place at 10:30, and online sites will start working at 11:00.
Muscovites will be able to learn about new economic instruments, the development of financial technologies and the specifics of the sphere of entrepreneurship at the official website activity. Thematic broadcast Moscow educational TV channel with live feeds, educational programs, topical interviews, videos and training videos, financial cartoons, historical excursions will allow the whole family to plunge into the world of finance and entrepreneurship.
On the same day, various lectures, master classes, quests from financial experts will take place. Schoolchildren and their parents will be able to test their knowledge and ask questions of interest to speakers. Leading economic universities and the State Public Historical Library of Russia have also prepared thematic events.
The speakers of the festival will be employees and invited experts of the Moscow Department of Finance, the Bank of Russia, candidates and doctors of science, teachers of the leading universities of the capital, as well as entrepreneurs and public figures.
“Master classes, lectures, and intellectual competitions have been prepared for townspeople of different ages, and cartoons for high school students and young children, a separate program is provided for older people. All this variety and format of educational content provide a keen interest in the topic itself and the festival, which is the most ambitious among all such events taking place throughout the entire academic year, – said the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.

Alexander Molotkov also noted that this year the festival will be held online due to sanitary and epidemiological restrictions.
“The experience of the past year has shown that the interest in the events of the festival, which took place online, is growing many times over. The vastness of the Internet allows you to practically not limit the audience and quickly move between different festival events, ”he added.
Last academic year, 144 thousand people joined the festival.
This year, festival participants will learn not only how to develop the right financial habits, but also how not to fall into the hands of fraudsters, as well as how to protect their personal data when making financial transactions. In addition, experts will tell you how to ensure the security of online payments and get refunds in case of errors or failures. For entrepreneurs, experts will give advice on how to attract funding for their business through an exchange or using collective investment technology, as well as what to do if an account is blocked.
For citizens of the older generation, the Moscow Department of Finance has prepared a separate thematic online platform based on the city news portal “Vecherka TV”… Experts will tell you how to avoid theft of money from a bank card and not fall for the tricks of fraudsters in employment, what modern financial pyramids look like and why citizens still invest in them, as well as discuss new financial technologies and suggest how to determine the authenticity of banknotes.
The festival’s online platforms will also start operating in four leading universities in the capital. Listeners will find interactive quizzes, webinars, seminars and video tutorials on the official pages of the G.V. Plekhanov, Moscow City University of Management of the Government of Moscow, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of National Economy and Civil Service under the President of the Russian Federation.
“We have joint projects with the Department of Education and Science: we communicate with schoolchildren and see that everyone is engaged in entrepreneurship, but they don’t know how to pay taxes, why register. The festival will once again emphasize the importance of financial and legal literacy ”, – said Tatiana Mineeva, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in Moscow.
In addition, from September 29 to October 1, students in grades 6-11 will learn online from the Bank of Russia specialists how to start a business and draw up a personal financial plan.
On September 25, an invitational tour of the Moscow Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Financial Literacy will take place. Quests will be available from 10:00 to 20:00. On the day of the Olympiad, the student needs to log in to the Moscow Electronic School, go to the Diary section and click on the corresponding banner.
Also on September 25, the FinSkills championship of financial competencies for high school students will begin in Moscow. Students of educational organizations aged 14 to 18 can take part in it. The children will be offered to use the bank of video materials and connect to a series of online classes with financial market experts. The project participants will compete with each other in passing test tasks and solving practical problems.
The FinSkills Championship will help high school students develop the right financial skills, learn how to achieve financial goals and work with legal regulations, as well as competently defend their rights and gain knowledge about the work of the stock market. The results of the championship will be summed up at the end of the year.
Elena Zyunina, representative of the Moscow Department of Finance, emphasized that the uniqueness and relevance of the festival is determined by the fact that at its venues residents can get a variety of financial information firsthand.
“The festival was originally conceived as a platform where, together with colleagues, we could combine the available resources and developments in order to financially educate the city’s residents. And from the very first festival this idea has been successfully implemented, every year the number of its partners and participants is increasing, ”she summed up.
The organizers of the festival are the Moscow Government and the Bank of Russia. The event is being held with the participation of the Scientific Research Financial Institute (NFI) of the Ministry of Finance of Russia. The partners are the Office of the Ombudsman for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights in Moscow, the Office of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the City of Moscow, the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in the City of Moscow, as well as leading economic universities, expert and public organizations.
