The specialists will build 11 transformer substations and lay 21 kilometers of cable lines.

The capital’s power engineers will carry out large-scale work to provide electricity to the new scientific quarter of the Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.

“In fact, it is planned to create a new city block with a science campus, a green park, a landscaped area. This will require the allocation of additional energy capacity and the creation of appropriate infrastructure, ”he said.

Thus, power engineers will build 11 transformer substations, in which they will install modern equipment. Additionally, specialists will lay distribution cable lines with a total length of more than 21 kilometers. The start of work is scheduled for mid-December this year.

“Technological connection will be carried out using equipment of a higher voltage class – 20 kilovolts,” said Pyotr Biryukov. “These distribution networks are characterized by high energy efficiency and lower technological losses during the transmission of electricity.”

The new scientific quarter will be supplied with electricity according to the second category of reliability. This means that in the event of a technological violation on one line, the voltage will automatically be supplied to the reserve one.
