The crews of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation aircraft, within the framework of routine combat training, performed combat training missions in the Kaliningrad region.

During the flights, the crews of the Su-30SM naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet carried out combat use at targets at one of the air ranges in the eastern part of the Kaliningrad region.

In the course of the training flights, tactical episodes were played out on working out tasks for their intended purpose – fire support of ground units, the destruction of command posts, armored vehicles and manpower of a simulated enemy, as well as air reconnaissance.

During the sorties, the crews dropped various types of aerial bombs, fired aerial cannons and practiced the elements of maneuvering while approaching targets under the conditions of the use of electronic suppression by a conditional “enemy”. All practical actions of the pilots were recorded by means of objective control installed on combat vehicles, as well as on the ground in the area of combat use. Analysis of the data obtained by means of objective control showed one hundred percent defeat of all targets.

Practical shooting contributed to an increase in the level of training of military pilots when performing tasks for their intended purpose, practicing and improving tactics and methods of using naval aviation.

In total, more than 10 aircraft were involved in the exercise, as well as the engineering and technical staff of the mixed aviation regiment of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation.
