Four “gold” and “bronze” is the result of the trip to Anapa of the pupils of the team of the Kyokushin karate section of the Kaliningrad United Sports and Technical School DOSAAF, which is successfully led by coach Mikhail Polyukhovich.

The 13th All-Russian Youth Games of Martial Arts have just finished in this resort town of Krasnodar Territory. For the third time in kyokushin karate competitions, the honor of the Amber Territory was defended by young Kaliningraders. And again they did it very successfully, winning the third place in the Olympic team classification.

Team leader Yegor Vakarchuk, who competed in the up to 55 kg weight category among 16-17 year old boys, has stepped onto the tatami four times. I spent the first two fights on ippon. He confidently won the third, semifinal match. And he was included by the organizing committee in the list of participants in the gala finals – for the first time in his sports career. In the gala-finals, in a difficult battle, he defeated an opponent from the Krasnodar Territory and won the first “gold” in the team’s piggy bank. Recall that Yegor is a five-time winner of the Russian Kyokushin Championship and the winner of the 2021 Kyokushin World Cup in Bulgaria.

His initiative was supported by his junior teammates in the 14-15 age category. Nikita Korobitsyn and Danila Vasiliev distinguished themselves. Nikita played four fights in an attacking style and confidently won the final in the up to 50 kg weight category. Danila withstood five fights. He left his rivals no chance of success and became the strongest in the weight category up to 55 kg. Irina Allayarova won bronze in battles with rivals in weight up to 55 kg.

On the last day of the Kyokushinkai competition, Matvey Morskoy, who competed among 12-13 year old boys in the up to 40 kg weight category, pleased. He withstood five battles, attacked, held the blow firmly and won.

– For 13 years I have been traveling with athletes to Anapa to the martial arts games, I was at the very first in 2008. I can say that the skill level of young athletes is growing every year and more efforts are required to win. The guys were convinced of this personally, were able to get together, show will, character, implement the best practices acquired during training, and achieve high results. Four “gold” and “bronze” are wonderful! But we cannot be satisfied with what has already been achieved, our motto is “Further – only forward!”. Participation in such tournaments, of course, is beneficial to martial artists, they gain experience, learn from their older comrades the skill, the ability to overcome themselves. And, even losing to strong opponents, the fighters learn to win science, – commented Mikhail Polyukhovich.

Kaliningrad karate coach Mikhail Polyukhovich expressed gratitude to the regional branch of DOSAAF and the Green City group of companies for the support of the team. He also said that according to the results of performances in 2021, taking into account the rating, the selection of athletes took place for the Kyokushinkai competition of the 5th Summer Spartakiad of Russian Youth in 2021, which will be held at the end of September in the village of Vityazevo, Krasnodar Territory. Yegor Vakarchuk was selected by the organizing committee from the Kaliningrad region in the competition to participate in the Olympics.
