Servicemen of artillery and motorized rifle units of the combined-arms formation of the Central Military District, stationed in Siberia, repulsed an attack by a mock enemy armored vehicle column at the Yurginsky training ground in the Kemerovo region.

According to the plan of the exercise, during the oncoming battle, the enemy, having superior forces, made an attempt to break through the defenses with the help of armored vehicles.

To prevent his maneuver, the crews of the Shturm-S ATGM took up firing positions on the path of the movement of the convoy of heavy armored vehicles of the conventional enemy and destroyed it at ranges of up to 3 thousand meters. At the same time, motorized rifle units on the BMP-2 were quickly deployed to the mission area, took up defensive positions and fired at lightly armored vehicles and mock enemy manpower from the standard armament of the BMP-2 and RPG-7V hand grenade launchers.

To defeat full-size targets imitating tank subunits and lightly armored equipment of a simulated enemy, Shturm and Attack guided missiles were used, equipped with a high-explosive and cumulative warhead.

In total, more than 500 servicemen and 50 units of military and special equipment were involved in the exercise.

The combined arms formation of the Central Military District is deployed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Tyumen, Irkutsk regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva. It includes motorized rifle, artillery and anti-aircraft missile formations, RChBZ and communications troops.
